Electronics recycling this weekend

Forsyth County residents will have the opportunity to recycle their old, unused electronics Saturday.Organized by Keep Forsyth County Beautiful, the semiannual electronics recycling event is set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cumming Fairgrounds’ parking lot off of Castleberry Road.Accepted items for recycling include, among others, laptops, stereos, CD players, cell phones, microwaves and cameras.The minimum donation per carload drop-off is $5. An additional $10 fee will apply for each TV.“We always have such an amazing response from the community for our electronics recycling events,” said Tammy Wright, environmental program manager. “By taking the time to recycle their unused electronics, residents can make a positive impact on the environment while removing clutter from their homes.”Some items — including large wooden console and projector TVs, toaster ovens and refrigerators — will not be accepted.For a complete list of acceptable items, visit www.forsythco.com or call KFCB at (770) 205-4573 for more details.
