Jake Fendt and Campbell Fisher both shot 73s to lead Lambert boys’ golf to the 2014 Forsyth County Golf Championships on Wednesday at the Polo Golf and Country Club. Lambert finished with a score of 303. West Forsyth came in second with a 317. Dru Adams and Robert Shaw both shot 74 to lead the Wolverines and finish tied for third place. Pinecrest Academy’s Daniel Dreyovich shot a 76 to finish fifth. South Forsyth came in third with a score of 343. Pinecrest (346), North Forsyth (379) and Forsyth Central rounded out the team standings. South was led by Cameron Stokes who shot an 83. Other top scorers for the War Eagles were Nick Mineo (87), Nick Shephard (89) and Josh Payne (91). Anthony Boudreaux also had a strong round for Pincrest with an 83. Jess Hill shot 93, while Thomas Hardy shot a 94. North was led by Lewis Lester (92), Zac Connelly (93), Blake Wade (95) and Daniel Mathis (99). Max Mobley shot a 91 for Central, and Christian Payne shot a 92. GIRLS LACROSSE South Forsyth 15, Lambert 12 The Lady War Eagles overcame an eight-goal halftime deficit to beat their Area 3-AAAAAA and county rival Wednesday at Lambert. South finished the regular season at 9-9 overall and 3-4 in the area. Lambert finished 11-6 and 2-5. Down 9-1 at halftime, the Lady War Eagles stormed back for the win. Moose Mueller led the way scoring seven goals. Brookey Rickman and Courtney Wisler each scored three goals for South, while Jamie Porter had two goals.
