SOUTH FORSYTH -- Kristin Morrissey has announced her campaign for re-election to the District 2 seat on the Forsyth County Board of Education in the May 20 primary. “While serving on the board, I have had an opportunity to see our schools reach new levels of success as we continue to raise the bar in academic excellence,” Morrissey said.“With our community’s continued growth, I believe the experience I have gained during my first term equips me to navigate the challenges and opportunities on the horizon.” Morrissey is an active member of the Forsyth community and serves as the school board’s vice chairwoman and legislative liaison. She is the only member with children enrolled in the school system.“During my first campaign, I pledged to be a voice for our parents and educators while protecting our community’s greatest asset, our children,” Morrissey said.“I am proud to report that during my tenure on the board of education, we have expanded opportunities to engage parents in decisions regarding their child’s education while also attaining the highest graduation rate among Georgia’s 20 largest districts and the highest district SAT score in the state.” Morrissey also serves as secretary and treasurer of the Forsyth County Public Library Board of Trustees and vice president of the Peachtree Parkway Improvement District.
