Central Gwinnett at North Forsyth When, where: Tonight, 7:30 p.m., at Raider Arena in Coal Mountain. Records, seedings: Central Gwinnett is 18-8 and the No. 4 seed from Region 8-AAAAAA; North is 26-2 and the No. 1 seed from Region 6. What to know: North Forsyth will have to watch out for Central Gwinnett guard Alexandra Frazier, who is one of the state’s top juniors. She can take over a game, as evidenced by her 27 points in the Lady Black Knight’s win over Woodstock in last season’s first round of the state tournament. She, along with junior Briana McGee and senior Tyra Woods, has been a big reason why Central returned to the state tournament this season despite graduating seven seniors, including who are playing in college. But Frazier probably won’t phase North who faced dynamic scorers like South Forsyth sophomore Sarah Myers this season. The Lady Raiders’ hallmark pressure defense should again come in handy against Frazier. So will North’s experience. Making its third straight tournament appearance, North and its veteran core of Caroline Bowns, Lochlain Corliss and Avery Scarbrough have their sights set on a deep playoff run. What’s next: The winner plays the Duluth-Lassiter winner.
