A section of Cantrell Road and one lane of English Drive will be closed for about two weeks while Forsyth County crews repair them in the wake of flooding Wednesday. Pipes that washed out under the northeast Forsyth roads will have to be replaced, according to Jodi Gardner, county spokesman. “New pipes have been ordered for both of these projects and will be installed as soon as possible,” Gardner wrote in an e-mail. “The timeframe for reopening the roads will depend upon the delivery of the pipes and the weather, but we estimate the roads will remain closed for approximately two weeks.” One lane of Oakcreek Crossing in the Oakcreek subdivision is also closed for a pipe replacement, she added. Parts of Forsyth received up to 8 inches of rain Wednesday as heavy thunderstorms moved through. Other roads closed due to flooding have since reopened, including Westbrook Road at Porter Lane; Grindle Lane; Burruss Mill Road at Burma Road; Nicholson Road and Old Federal Road. The Big Creek Greenway also reopened Friday.
