No charges will be filed in connection with a crash that brought traffic to a standstill Wednesday on Ga. 400. A northbound log truck overturned and spilled its load on the corridor at 11:30 a.m. about a half-mile south of McFarland Parkway near the Fulton County line. The accident caused lane closures until after 2 p.m. while authorities cleared the wreckage. The 21-year-old driver was not injured in the accident, which was caused when one of the truck’s front tires blew, said Doug Rainwater, spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.“Once that tire blew out, it’s like on NASCAR,” Rainwater said. “He went straight into that wall.” A state commercial vehicle truck unit investigated the tractor-trailer for any potential violations, but found none.“The tires were right there on the border of being illegal,” he said, “but they were actually 2 millimeters away, so we couldn’t write a ticket for that.” The driver had been traveling under the speed limit and in one of the right lanes, he said.
